Its green leaves are aromatic and its brush-shaped flowers have protruding stamens. They are a very striking red.<\/p>\n<p>It is a variety of Callistemon characterised by young shoots bearing silky, crimson pinkish red flowers, <strong>longer<\/strong> than those of <em>Callistemon laevis<\/em> .<\/p>\n<p>It is a shrub or small tree with arching or pendulous stems and green, lance-shaped leaves up to 10 cm long. When rubbed, the leaves give off a lemon scent.
