Callistemon ‘Captain Cook’ is an evergreen shrub that grows to between 1.5 and 2 metres in height. It forms a dense, slightly weeping shrub. The leaves are narrow, 50 to 60 mm long. In spring it produces a profusion of red bottlebrush spikes, and a further flowering sometimes occurs in late summer or autumn.<\/p>\n
Callistemon ‘Captain Cook’ is best suited to climates ranging from cool temperate to sub-tropical. A sunny position improves flowering, and it performs best when it can be watered during establishment and in spring. It adapts to most soils, but prefers fertile, well-drained ones. It tolerates drought. It withstands salt-laden winds.<\/p>\n
